Teaching resources to support the updated NZC
Updated 26 June 2026. This page links to resources to help school leaders and teachers start using the NZC.
About this resource
This page explains what tools and resources are available to help implement the updated curriculum, what’s being developed, and when they will be available.
We’re building a range of teaching resources to help schools explore and use the New Zealand Curriculum as it is updated.
A knowledge-rich curriculum requires a different approach, so we are providing examples and outlines of plans to help teachers get started.
This is the first time we’ve developed curriculum resources with this level of detail. They’re designed for teachers to use and adapt them while unpacking the draft learning areas.
This means you can pick them up and try them out, using them as examples to plan and develop your own units and lessons.
Learning kits include sample annual, unit, and lesson plans, which are provided as examples and can be used in any term.
New resources available
- Learning kits for draft Year 9: Science, Social Sciences, Technology, The Arts, and Health and Physical Education.
- Learning kits for English: Year 7, Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10.
- For Mathematics and Statistics: Year, unit and weekly plans for Years 0-10 and Ministry-funded resources for Years 0-10.
- Structured literacy supports.
- Structured maths supports.
- Accelerated learning supports for students who need help to catch up
Provide your feedback
We encourage you to engage with the resources and provide us with feedback, so we can continue to improve them as they're released over time. You can provide your feedback here: Feedback on learning kits.
