About this resource
This resource provides examples of annual, unit and lesson plans aligned with the English learning area, and gives teachers an opportunity to explore the refreshed curriculum content. The plans are optional to use, but offer teachers support in mapping across years, units and lessons, and can be adapted to suit your students’ needs.
A term’s worth of learning kits is currently available. We will continue to add new plans until a full year of teaching is covered.

The "Materials that come with this resource" section above and "File Downloads" section below provide examples of Year 7 English annual, unit and lesson plans based on the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum for this learning area.
These kits are designed to help teachers plan and deliver teaching and learning for Year 7 English. Each kit includes unit plans and detailed lesson plans, giving teachers a guided approach to confidently implement the new curriculum. These resources are here to support – you can adapt them as you see fit to suit your students’ needs.

These plans do not include all the details of the curriculum content. Teachers and leaders should continue to consult the New Zealand Curriculum documents when developing their own teaching and learning programmes.
Over time, learning kits for more year levels will become available. These are currently available also for Year 8, 9 and 10 English,
