English Learning Kit

 

The "Materials that come with this resource" section above and "File Downloads" section below provides exemplar Year 9 English unit and lesson plans based on the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum. 

These kits are designed to help teachers plan and deliver teaching and learning for Year 9 English. Each kit includes unit plans and detailed lesson plans, giving teachers a guided approach to confidently implement the new curriculum. These resources are here to support – you can adapt them as you see fit to suit your students’ needs. 

What makes these resources useful for you: 

• Fully aligned with the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum and its sequence of learning 

• Provides a clear, coherent approach to teaching key concepts 

• Designed to support a wide range of learners and contexts, with flexibility for adaptation

• Reflects New Zealand contexts and includes Te Ao Māori perspectives

Important to know: 

• These plans do not include all the details of the curriculum content. Teachers and leaders should continue to consult the New Zealand Curriculum documents when developing their own teaching and learning programmes.   

• Over time, unit plans and lessons plans for more year levels will become available. You can find those for Year 10 English here. 

• Additional resources will be released to support multi-year planning and contexts.
