Videos on using materials and representations to support teaching maths
The Ministry of Education has worked with the Victoria University of Wellington to provide access to a collection of videos from the SPRING into Maths programme.
These videos support teachers to use materials and representations when teaching the years 0-8 mathematics and statistics learning area. Many of the representations in the videos are included in the "Teaching Considerations" section of the year-by-year teaching sequences in the refreshed maths and statistics learning area.
The videos are organised into three collections that are aligned with the refreshed learning area - phase 1, phase 2, and phase 3. They include a comprehensive range of topics and areas, such as "Combinations with Dice", "Hundreds Boards", "Equivalent Fractions", and much more. You can download a table of videos for your own records.
