Te Reo Māori
Through the study of Te Reo Māori (Years 11–13), students build on linguistic knowledge and cultural and sociolinguistic knowledge covered in the Novice phases to explore the interconnected nature of learning language. Students learn to further apply rules of grammar and knowledge of vocabulary as they engage with a range of language input and output strategies. Te Reo Māori learning builds on prior experiences to enable exploration of how language, culture, and context are interconnected, supporting increasing accuracy, appropriateness, and independence in communication.
