The National Curriculum sets out what needs to be taught as part of school teaching and learning programmes. Following the direction set by the national curriculum, school leaders will design teaching and learning programmes suitable for their school. These programmes, known as the school curriculum, will include local, national and global contexts that are meaningful and engaging for their students. Each school’s curriculum will provide a coherent learning pathway through school, setting students up to participate in further study, work and the community. A school’s curriculum will be developed by school leaders, working in partnership with staff, students, whānau, tangata whenua, and the wider community.
On 13 June the Minister announced changes to the National Curriculum. As changes to the curriculum are progressed the resources in this section will be reviewed and updated to align to the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum. We appreciate your patience while this work is completed.
Further resources and materials will be added here at a later stage.
