Connected 2023 Level 4 – Hear our voices

The three Connected texts explore themes of rights, barriers to participation, and colonisation. They have a particular focus on changing attitudes and values related to disability and the impact of Aotearoa New Zealand’s colonial authority and control in the Pacific.

At times, Connected themes require the introduction of concepts that students at this curriculum level may not be able to fully understand. What matters at this stage is that students begin to develop understandings that they can grow over time.
